Rudy Berumen
VARSITY HEAD COACH
INSIDE LINEBACKERS
Coach Berumen is entering his 25th year of coaching football and his 4th as a head coach. After he finished playing at Central Methodist University in 1999, he began coaching linebackers at CMU for the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Upon returning home to California in 2002, he began coaching high school football and was a defensive coordinator for a total of 17 years prior to becoming the Head Coach at LOHS. Coach Berumen has coached at several local high schools where he has been part of multiple league championships, playoff appearances, and a CIF championship in 2018 at South Hills High School. Coach Berumen and his wife Lori have been married for 27 years and have 3 children Rudy (22), Gabriel (21), and Jocelyn (18).His son Rudy coaches football and his daughter, Jocelyn, just graduated from LOHS last May.
Ray Shirley
DEFENSIVE BACKS
Coach Ray is in his third season of coaching for LOHS. This is his 5th year as a high school varsity football coach. Coach Ray loves the game of football, and everything that comes with it. He fortunate enough to be able to continue his athletic and academic journey with an offer to a 4 year university out of high school. Coach Ray’s goal is to use his experience and knowledge to help our athletes stay on track to be able to achieve any goal they may have.
Lyndon Cleghorne
DEFENSIVE BACKS/WIDE RECEIVERS
Coach Cleghorne is coaching his forth year at Los Osos, but he has been coaching different levels of football for the past 36 years. He has coached Pop Warner and Junior All-American. At the high school level, he has coached at Claremont, Colony, Chino Hills, South Hills, and Damien high schools. He has experience coaching OL/DL, CB/WR, and special teams – Gunners and Returners. He has also coached Track at South Hills and Damien. Coach Cleghorne went to school at New York Technical College. He is married to his wife, Rachel, and they have 3 children, Danielle, Jelani, and Salim. Coach Cleghorne’s words of inspiration: Fundamentals and effort is the doorway to your success.
DANNY PAREDES
RUNNING BACKS
Coach Paredes attended Bosco High School from 1996-2000 where he played WR and Safety. He was able to go back to Bosco and coach at the varsity level from 2003-2005. In 2005 he got married and also had his son Danny Paredes Jr. The following year his daughter Bella Paredes was born. He coached and became the Athletic Director at La Verne/San Dimas Pop Warner from 2016-2018. Coach Paredes’ next stop was Damien high school from 2019-2023. In 2024, Coach Paredes joined the staff at Los Osos High School where he currently coaches the Running Backs.
WILLIAM DAUSER
DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR/DL
Coach Dauser began his coaching career in 2016 at Rancho Cucamonga High School as an Offensive Line Coach. The following season he made the switch to Defensive Line. In 2019 he became the Defensive Coordinator at Rancho Cucamonga and for the last 4 seasons at Rancho he has been the Co-Defensive Coordinator. He played football for Colony high school winning back to back CIF Championships in 06-07. After his 4 years at Colony he ended up getting a preferred walk on spot at Northern Arizona University. He is a US and World History teacher at Rancho Cucamonga High School. Coach Dauser has a loving and supportive wife Leilani, and daughter Avery, son Bo and son Weston due in January.
Gio Russo
OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR/
QUARTERBACKS
Coach Russo played football at LOHS for his first 3 years of HS. He transferred his senior year (during COVID) and played for Coach Berumen at Damien HS for his Senior year. Coach Russo started his coaching career at the youth level while still in high school. He began coaching high school football in 2022 here at LO with Coach Berumen. Coach Russo continues to work with the youth and high school students during the off-season where he coaches at Training Performance Athletics (TPA).

OFFENSIVE LINE
Coach Cabral is entering his third year of coaching for LOHS. He would like to pass the knowledge of the game that he’s been blessed to learn over the years to the next generation. He played for Arizona State from 2016 to 2019 and has been playing for NFL/UFL since 2020. He is also an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at MW Athletix, and a stunt professional for EA Sports.

RECEIVERS
Coach Bailey is in his third year coaching at Los Osos High School, currently serving as the varsity receivers coach. He made his coaching debut by coaching at the freshman level. A former standout player at Claremont High School, Bailey earned a full-ride football scholarship to Oregon State, where he excelled on the field. With a strong background in the game and a commitment to developing young talent. He is married and has 2 children who currently attend LOHS. His son Jaxon is a junior and plays Varsity Football. Kennedy is a freshman and plays Frosh Girls Volleyball. Coach Bailey brings his experience and passion to the Los Osos football program.

OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS
Coach Clinton is entering his 1st year of coaching football. Although this is his first year in a coaching role, he brings a strong football foundation from his years as a collegiate player. His playing experience has given him a deep understanding of the game, including strategy, discipline, and teamwork. He’s committed to translating his on-field knowledge into effective coaching, developing athletes not only in their skills but also in their mindset, work ethic, and love for the game. Coach Clinton currently works as a Physical Education teacher.

Coach Lucero is entering his 2nd year of coaching for LOHS. He coached for 3 years at Etiwanda HS before coming to Osos. He is currently in school to become a high school history teacher.

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR/OLB
Coach Rudy is the son of Head Coach Rudy Berumen and in his second year of coaching. He played his freshman and sophomore season at South Hills HS where he won a CIF Championship in 2018. He finished his High School career at Damien High school where he graduated in 2021. Coach Rudy coaches the OLBs on the Freshman level and is the Defensive Coordinator.

Danny Pierce
FRESHMAN HEAD COACH
OL & DL
Coach Pierce started playing tackle football in the 5th grade in 2006 for the Rancho Cucamonga Warriors. He is a Los Osos alumni and played for Athletic Director Mike Randall from 2010-2014. He won lineman of the year for the 2012 season for LOHS. He started coaching where he began playing at the Warriors in 2021. After the summer he was able to get on staff at Los Osos High School to help coach football as well. He started as just the freshman O-Line coach, the following year he was the freshman Offensive Coordinator where we went 3-0 league. After the 2nd season he took over as Head Coach of the Freshman team and has gotten another League Title for the 2023 season. He has been with his wife Lex since 2013 and got married in 2021. They met at Los Osos High School. They both have always loved football and are always excited for football season to cheer on the Grizzlies.

FRESHMAN COACH
Coach Bishop is in his 2nd year of coaching for LOHS football and track and field. He played football for LOHS, Chaffey College and for Central Washington University. In addition ran track and field for Cal Poly Pomona. He is substitute teacher, and an older brother to a Aaven Bishop. (#9)
